As an opto-mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex optical systems integrated with mechanical components for optical satellite ground stations designed and developed by Cailabs. You will work closely with technical teams to ensure the performance and reliability of complex and innovative systems.
Here are the main responsibilities of the position :
- You design and model opto-mechanical systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software and optical simulation software such as Zemax, Code V, or others.
- You select and integrate optical and mechanical components, considering constraints, thermal stability, and optical performance, and you may perform mechanical and thermal structural calculations.
- You conduct tolerance analyses to ensure the manufacturability and achievement of performance specifications.
- You assemble mechanical parts, perform the assembly and alignment of opto-mechanical components.
- You conduct tests to verify the optical and mechanical performance of the system and make necessary adjustments to optimize system performance.
- You document all stages of the development process.
- You contribute to design plans, test reports, and user manuals to ensure traceability and reproducibility of the manufacturing process.
- You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams internally and manage relationships with suppliers (in France and abroad) to ensure the development of high-quality products.
Essential skills
- Graduated as an Engineer with a focus on optics, you have at least 3 years of experience in the design, integration, validation of opto-mechanical, optical or optoelectronic systems, and project management.
- You have extensive experience using optical software such as Zemax, Code V, or equivalents, and are proficient in a CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- You are recognized for your rigor, organization, and autonomy, and your ability to manage cross-functional projects.
- You have a strong capacity for adaptation and wish to join a rapidly growing, medium-sized company where you can be a driving force in proposals.
- You are passionate about innovation, enjoy technical challenges, and are creative.
- Your skills in written and oral communication enable you to interact with teams and partners in French and English.
