Founded in 2013, Cailabs is the number one global specialist in laser shaping, tied to a unique, patented technology: Multi Plane Light Conversion (MPLC).

At Cailabs we design, manufacture and develop innovative photonic solutions for satellite communications, industrial applications (laser machining), fiber optic telecommunications and defense.

Since 2020, Cailabs has seen its growth accelerate in the field of optical ground stations/ free space optical communications and we are looking to expand our customer base across the U.S. government, commercial, and defense markets. Cailabs patented MPLC technology passively mitigates atmospheric turbulence to enable ultra-high-speed satellite to earth communications -an exciting technology with unlimited potential. Cailabs currently employs over 90 people, including 25 PhDs. with 26 patent families registered. 

Job description

As a Methods Manager, you will be at the heart of our production process, ensuring the link between R&D and production.

You will be responsible for improving our working methods, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and well-adapted organization in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.

You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes by implementing innovative systems and methods adapted to the complexity of our products (electronics, mechanics, optics).

As such, your missions will be as follows:

  • Accompany and manage the methods teams (engineers and technicians)
  • Development of methods: Design and implement optimized production methods and processes.
  • Manage product configuration and contribute to its evolution.
  • Promote the search for innovative solutions by contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and resolve technical issues encountered.
  • Ensure the implementation, qualification, and optimization of manufacturing processes in production and on new products.
  • Anticipate and implement necessary actions to optimize the use of production resources.
  • Ensure the link between production and R&D, providing solutions in case of technical problems.
  • Create and maintain process, procedure, and work instruction documentation.

The missions described above are not exhaustive and may evolve according to the needs of the company.

Essential skills

With a Master's degree (BAC +5) from an engineering school, you have between 7 and 10 years of experience in a similar role on complex systems.

You have significant management experience and are capable of managing teams in project mode.

You are recognized for:

  • Your knowledge in optics/physics
  • Your flexibility and adaptability
  • Your rigor, analytical mind, and proactive approach
  • Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively to explain new methods and procedures to teams
  • Your ability to analyze complex problems and find relevant solutions
  • Your proficiency with ERP tools and the Microsoft Office suite
