Job description

Join us to revolutionize the world of space communication!

At Cailabs, we develop cutting-edge optical communication solutions. We help our clients connect the world faster, more reliably, and more sustainably. To support our rapid growth, we are looking for an Installation Manager to lead the deployment of our optical communication stations at our international clients’ sites.

As the Installation Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Director. Your mission will be to coordinate and ensure the complete deployment of our optical communication stations in various and sometimes challenging environments (mountains, deserts, remote regions).

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Structuring, implementing, and developing the installation activity within the company. This key position will allow you to lay the foundations and drive the evolution of this strategic function.
  • Coordinating the initial phase of the installation: technical documentation, risk identification, and action planning.
  • Managing deployment logistics in collaboration with support teams and clients: transportation, customs, equipment, etc.
  • Overseeing the installation of ground stations at client sites, ensuring compliance with deployed systems.
  • Contributing to the assembly of subsystems through to final commissioning.
  • Training clients and operators on the use of installed systems.
  • Ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance of deployed stations.
  • As part of an evolving position, you may also be responsible for structuring the preventive and corrective maintenance activity for the stations.

Essential skills

We are looking for a candidate with a strong engineering background, ideally in the field of telecommunications, industrial systems, or a related technical sector.

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in deploying complex equipment or systems, preferably in an international context. Throughout your previous roles, you have demonstrated a proven ability to manage large-scale projects, ensuring their successful execution from preparation to commissioning.
  • Your project management skills enable you to effectively coordinate various stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met while anticipating and resolving issues that may arise on the ground.
  • You are comfortable interacting with international clients and thriving in diverse, sometimes demanding environments where your adaptability and communication skills are key assets.
  • Your autonomy, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for challenges will enable you to structure and develop the installation activity while laying the groundwork for a continuous improvement process.
  • Additionally, you are fluent in both French and English, in both written and spoken forms, allowing you to communicate easily in an international context.

What sets you apart:

  • Knowledge of optical communication technologies would be an asset but is not required.
  • Your willingness to travel frequently and adapt to different cultures and working conditions will be crucial for your success in this position.
