Founded in 2013, Cailabs is the number one global specialist in laser shaping, tied to a unique, patented technology: Multi Plane Light Conversion (MPLC).

At Cailabs we design, manufacture and develop innovative photonic solutions for satellite communications, industrial applications (laser machining), fiber optic telecommunications and defense.

Since 2020, Cailabs has seen its growth accelerate in the field of optical ground stations/ free space optical communications and we are looking to expand our customer base across the U.S. government, commercial, and defense markets. Cailabs patented MPLC technology passively mitigates atmospheric turbulence to enable ultra-high-speed satellite to earth communications -an exciting technology with unlimited potential. Cailabs currently employs over 90 people, including 25 PhDs. with 26 patent families registered.

Reporting to the Operations department, you will be responsible for developing the quality approach and continuous improvement within Cailabs.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading various projects of different scales aimed at increasing our maturity and moving us closer to ISO9001 certification
  • Implementing quality indicators
  • Updating product specification documents
  • Ensuring compliance with Reach and ROHS standards (and any other standards Cailabs may need to comply with in the future)
  • Managing metrology: updating the maintenance plan, overseeing the preventive maintenance work of the lead technician, managing corrective maintenance (liaising with the Instrumentation Department or suppliers)
  • Maintaining relationships with the Instrumentation Department in case of malfunction (after-sales service)
  • Conducting quality checks on raw materials upon receipt and on products returned by customers/partners
  • Ensuring the proper execution of prototype shipping processes by the technical department
  • Developing procedures: organizational structure, drafting (independently or in collaboration with other team members), tracking updates, and ensuring the quality of information contained in procedures
  • Coordinating activities related to occupational risk prevention and protection: leading the update and monitoring of action plans for the DUERP (Document Unique d'Évaluation des Risques Professionnels), building safety, etc.

Essential skills

  • You are a graduate of an engineering school and have extensive experience in quality and process improvement, ideally within small to medium-sized industrial companies.
  • You enjoy designing and building tools and indicators that will be foundational for a growing company.
  • You are known for your rigor, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills.
  • Your flexibility and high adaptability enable you to interface effectively with other departments within the company.
  • You have a good command of English (both written and spoken).
