At Cailabs we design, manufacture and develop innovative photonic solutions for satellite communications, industrial applications (laser machining), fiber optic telecommunications and defense.

As a methods technician, reporting to the Workshop Manager and operating in an R&D and multidisciplinary environment, your role will be to analyze, design, and optimize production processes.

Your main missions will be to:

  • Participate in the revision and update of operational procedures for production teams, in collaboration with methods engineers and workshop technicians
  • Ensure the compliance of technical data (mechanical plans, component datasheets) and the manufacturing record (routing, bill of materials)
  • Define cycle times and perform tack time calculations
  • Provide process expertise to support technical or production teams in continuous improvement and/or the development of new components
  • Participate in process audits in collaboration with the methods engineer
  • Contribute to improving workshop ergonomics and increasing productivity by proposing process and equipment improvement solutions
  • Define and maintain standards and rules for formalizing data in the ERP

Essential skills

Coming from a BAC +2 degree program with a mechanical/optical component, you have 3 years of experience in a methods role in an industrial environment.

  • You have skills in reading mechanical plans and diagrams.
  • You are known for your interpersonal skills and curiosity.
  • You have good analytical and writing abilities. 
  • You are rigorous.
  • You are proactive and have good time management and organizational skills.
  • You have experience using an ERP.
