Job description

Do you want to put your optics and pre-sales skills to work for cutting-edge technology?

Join Cailabs as an Application Engineer to contribute to the development of laser optical communications and support our international clients. 

 

As an Application Engineer, you will work directly with our clients to demonstrate the performance of our solutions. You will provide valuable support to our product and sales teams, ensuring a deep technical understanding of our products and optimized client support. 

 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

Pre-sales Tools: 

  • Develop and maintain a simulation tool for optical ground station deployment scenarios. 
  • Create online link budget calculators. 
  • Set up online demonstrations of our control software for optical ground stations. 

 

Customer Demonstrations: 

  • Organize and conduct optical link and turbulence emulation demonstrations for prospects, ensuring deployment beyond our headquarters, including our international offices (US). 
  • Proactively suggest and develop new client demonstrations tailored to specific market and client needs. 

 

Support for Product and Sales Teams: 

  • Provide technical support during sales phases to clarify and highlight our products' capabilities. 
  • Participate in the development of the TILBA product roadmap. 
  • Develop technical marketing content related to TILBA product technology. 
  • Contribute to the customer feedback process to support the product roadmap with key technical insights. 

Essential skills

  • You have a degree in engineering with a specialization in optics and at least 3 years of experience in a customer-focused technical support role, such as pre-sales, technical project management, or post-sales. 
  • Specific experience in the field of optical communications or aerospace is a strong asset for this position. 
  • You are proficient in technical tools, especially Python and Git, and have proven skills in data analysis and visualization to generate actionable insights. 
  • Your technical skills are complemented by an ability to explain complex concepts and adapt to a diverse range of stakeholders, both in French and English. 
  • You are also known for your initiative and your ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment, where interaction with product and sales teams is essential. 
  • You are willing to travel to work closely with our international clients and enhance their experience with Cailabs solutions.
