Job description
Do you like technical challenges?
Do you want to contribute to the future of space communications?
Join the Cailabs R&D department!
As a signal processing engineer, integrated in an R&D team, your role will be to develop and validate control laws & algorithms to control the servo systems of our TILBA-ATMO solution. You will analyse optical, electrical or digital signals in order to propose the most relevant feedback loops.
Your work will make possible very high speed telecommunication from low earth orbit satellites. It may also be applied to other innovative mobile applications on land, in the air or at sea.
Your programmes should enable our systems to operate under a variety of conditions and make sense of the data collected by our sensors to improve system performance.
Your missions will be the following:
- Modelling and control of complex linear & non-linear dynamic systems
- Design and implement control laws & algorithms for processing, estimation and interpretation, with the support of the simulation department
- Study the specificities of the sensor and the data to be processed: nature of the signal, data format, etc.
- Interacting on a daily basis with team members (optical and electronic engineers) to define expectations and desired performances. Test and validate the control laws
- Analyse and optimise performance (data analytics, identification methods, etc.)
- Participate in the creation of an embedded program that allows the use of these algorithms
- Write the technical documentation to guide the hardware implementation of the program in the system and its use.
Essential skills
You have a degree in automation or signal processing, and have a first successful experience (including academic research) in automation, signal processing and servo control of complex systems.
You have a strong taste for experimentation.
Technical skills expected:
- Automation
- Specification writing
- Advanced signal processing
- Statistics and data processing
- Proven skills in scientific programming languages (C++, C, Python, C++ V11 appreciated)
You are known for :
- Your efficiency, proactivity and rigour
- Your ability to identify problems and find solutions, sometimes under time pressure
- Your team spirit
- Your ability to interact in a complex multi-disciplinary research environment
- Your ability to synthesise and make proposals
Experience in optics or optical instrumentation would be a plus, as would skills in systems integration.
