Who are we ?

Founded in 2013, Cailabs is the global specialist in laser beam shaping, particularly through a unique and patented technology (MPLC), originating from scientific laboratories. After experience in research and development in industry or academic research, come join a dynamic team of engineers and Ph.D. holders who share your desire to apply their skills to challenging technical endeavors. In this team, your main responsibilities are to:

  • Lead projects for the development of new optical systems and subsystems for horizontal laser telecommunication links,
  • Propose new system architectures and optical designs according to customer needs,
  • Identify, assess, select, and manage new suppliers and service providers,
  • Prototype, test, integrate, and interface different optical subsystems,
  • Supervise and train junior engineers,
  • Prepare documentation and technical reports for clients.

Essential skills

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of optical technologies, including academic research and thesis work.
  • You have received training in optics and possess practical expertise in the field. Your knowledge extends to various existing optical and photonic technologies (types of lasers, optical amplifiers, detectors, modulators, etc.).
  • You are proficient in the design of free-space optical benches, prototyping optical systems, and automated data acquisition and processing using programming languages.
  • You have experience in developing integrated prototypes that are robust in external environmental conditions.
  • You are independent, capable of identifying and solving problems, sometimes under time constraints.
  • You can lead and train engineers in innovative technologies and effectively communicate and coordinate with individuals from other fields such as mechanics and electronics.
  • You can discuss your technical projects in fluent English with your team, both in written and oral communication.

  • Strong synthesis and proactive skills
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Python and Zemax software is a plus.
