Internship description
The internship involves taking charge of and participating in the development of an optical ground station simulator, the first version of which has already been developed.
Under the supervision of the internship tutor, you will:
- Define the objectives that will guide the developments and simulations you will be required to produce, in order to integrate them into the R&D tools.
The simulator is based on software libraries for simulating astronomical objects and servo systems, with which you will need to familiarise yourself in order to contribute to the evolution of the code base and the addition of new features to the simulator.
Profile required
Second- or third-year engineering student specialising in optics or servo control systems
Key points:
- Good knowledge of programming (Python) and software development basics
- Knowledge of control methods
- Basic knowledge of numerical simulation methods
Bonus points:
- Knowledge of astronomy, orbital mechanics and/or astrodynamics
- Curiosity and interest in studying and modelling complex real-world systems
- Experience in asynchronous programming
- Experience with Docker for application deployment
