In a context of strong business growth, Cailabs is deploying Optical Ground Stations (OGS) worldwide. To support this scale-up, we are looking for a Head of Deployment & Services.

Reporting to the Operations Department, you are responsible for structuring, managing, and developing all installation and associated service activities related to our systems.

You operate at both a strategic and organizational level, defining the framework, processes, and resources required to scale these activities in a high-growth environment.

You will manage the Head of OGS Installation, who is responsible for the operational execution of field deployments, and you will ensure the overall performance of the department.

 

In this context, your main responsibilities will include :

Team management and structuring :

  • Manage the Head of OGS Installation, who leads a team currently composed of 4 engineers,
  • Define the target organization of the Deployment & Services department (roles, responsibilities, team sizing),
  • Lead the recruitment plan and support team growth,
  • Foster a culture of performance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Activity structuring:

  • Define and formalize global deployment and service processes (without direct involvement in field execution),

  • Implement the tools, methods, and standards required to industrialize operations,

  • Structure and develop associated service offerings : maintenance in operational condition (MCO), monitoring (NOC), and operational support,

  • Define operating models (SLAs, support organization, service levels).

Deployment management:

  • Define the deployment strategy and associated roadmaps in coordination with the Head of OGS Installation,

  • Monitor overall activity performance (quality, cost, delivery timelines) through key performance indicators,

  • Ensure compliance with contractual and operational commitments,

  • Identify improvement areas and lead optimization plans.

Cross-functional coordination:

  • Build and structure interfaces with internal teams : Verification & Validation, logistics, and planning,

  • Ensure proper coordination between technical teams, projects, and operations,

  • Leverage field feedback to continuously improve products and processes.

Profile required

The technical skills and soft skills expected for this role are :

 

  • You hold an engineering degree, with a multidisciplinary technical background (electrical, optical, mechanical, and software),
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in complex technical installations and in maintenance in operational condition (MCO) activities within industrial environments involving complex systems,
  • You have strong skills in team management as well as in structuring activities and organizations,
  • You are able to design and structure an organization and support it through a growth phase,
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken,
  • You are recognized for your rigor, analytical skills, diplomacy, and strong team spirit, as well as for your intellectual agility and your ability to structure organizations in complex technical environments.
