Job description

Founded in 2013, Cailabs is the number one global specialist in laser shaping, tied to a unique, patented technology: Multi Plane Light Conversion (MPLC).

At Cailabs we design, manufacture and develop innovative photonic solutions for satellite communications, industrial applications (laser machining), fiber optic telecommunications and defense.

Since 2020, Cailabs has seen its growth accelerate in the field of optical ground stations/ free space optical communications and we are looking to expand our customer base across the U.S. government, commercial, and defense markets. Cailabs patented MPLC technology passively mitigates atmospheric turbulence to enable ultra-high-speed satellite to earth communications -an exciting technology with unlimited potential. Cailabs currently employs over 90 people, including 25 PhDs. with 26 patent families registered. 

Essential skills

• You have a BAC+2/3 in Optical Engineering / Photonics or equivalent
• You are meticulous, rigorous and organised (the position requires good dexterity),
• You are autonomous and have the ability to make proposals,
• Your interpersonal skills are an asset for teamwork with both the Operations and Technical R&D teams

• You have experience in alignment
• You have experience in alignment and testing of optical components
• You have knowledge of UV bonding and micro-positioning of optics in free space
• You are able to adapt to an evolving environment
