Internship description

The internship project aims to improve the digital tools at the heart of Cailabs' light shaping technology. Depending on your profile, the internship may focus more on mathematics or optics. Your work will help the Technical Department as a whole to address optical problems, particularly in the space and laser machining sectors.

Your objective will be to develop new numerical or scientific calculation tools .

You will work in the Technical Department under the supervision of a doctorate in physics, an R&D engineer and an expert in numerical simulations. You will learn how to carry out a bibliographical study of the project to be carried out, define specifications and discuss the progress of your work. You will have the opportunity to use and improve your scientific knowledge, and you will learn to work as part of a company team on practical issues.

Essential skills

Key skills :

  • An affinity for programming, in particular the Python programming language
  • Interest in applied mathematics (in particular analysis, algebra or numerical optimisation)

and/or

  • Training in optics during the course

Plus points:

  • Knowledge of good collaborative code practices (Git version control, code review concepts, code style conventions)
  • Rigour, motivation and autonomy
