As an R&D Systems Architect, you will contribute to the development of new equipment within innovative technical projects such as space laser communications, optical communication systems, and advanced optoelectronic solutions.
You will be at the heart of innovation, responsible for the design and architecture of systems while coordinating efforts across several multidisciplinary teams. You will also play a key role in structuring systems engineering methodologies in line with INCOSE standards.
Your Responsibilities:
- Analyze system requirements based on the needs expressed by product teams.
- Draft technical specifications in collaboration with domain teams (primarily optics, electronics, mechanics, and software).
- Define and coordinate innovative technical solutions, ensuring their feasibility and alignment with product requirements.
- Develop and propose various system architectures and lead their evaluation.
- Contribute to the system verification and validation plan, following best practices in requirements management.
- Coordinate various stakeholders and subsystems, ensuring effective communication between teams while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Oversee and participate in product integration, progressively validating that the completed subsystems meet the specified requirements.
- Manage requirement traceability throughout the product development process.
- Support the development of a systems methodology within the R&D team, aligned with international standards.
Essential skills
- Graduated from an engineering school (Master's degree or equivalent) with a specialization in systems engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in systems engineering within complex industrial environments (defense, aerospace, space).
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating technical teams.
- Skills in electronics and/or optoelectronics are a plus.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple technical disciplines (optics, electronics, software) while ensuring overall system consistency.
- Proficiency in SysML, an MBSE tool (Enterprise Architect, Capella), and ideally a framework (CESAM, Arcadia, etc.).
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
- Analytical and synthesis capabilities, with the ability to challenge and argue effectively.
- Curious, proactive, innovation-oriented, and passionate about new technologies.
- Comfortable working in uncertain and complex environments.
- Fluent in professional English and French, both written and spoken.
The position can be located in Rennes or Paris (with regular travel to Rennes if based in Paris).
