Founded in 2013, Cailabs is the number one global specialist in laser shaping, tied to a unique, patented technology: Multi Plane Light Conversion (MPLC).

At Cailabs we design, manufacture and develop innovative photonic solutions for satellite communications, industrial applications (laser machining), fiber optic telecommunications and defense.

Since 2020, Cailabs has seen its growth accelerate in the field of optical ground stations/ free space optical communications and we are looking to expand our customer base across the U.S. government, commercial, and defense markets. Cailabs patented MPLC technology passively mitigates atmospheric turbulence to enable ultra-high-speed satellite to earth communications -an exciting technology with unlimited potential. Cailabs currently employs over 90 people, including 25 PhDs. with 26 patent families registered.

Key points:

  • PhD studies.
  • Training and experience in experimental or theoretical optics.
  • Skills in programming and numerical simulations.
  • Fluent English.

Desirable skills:

  • Skills in numerical propagation of laser beams (excluding proprietary software).
  • Proficiency in Python (especially the SciPy Stack).
  • Some knowledge of French (B1 level).
